More than just a “page-view counter,” platforms such as Google Analytics allow entrepreneurs, marketers, and business owners to assess the success of their digital marketing efforts.

Digital analytics is the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data from your business and your competition to drive a continual improvement of the online experience that your customers and potential customers have which translates to your desired outcomes.

What kind of data does Google Analytics collect?

Google Analytics collects both quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data is how many – for instance, what is the size of your audience? Qualitative data tells you the how and why – for instance, how do people access your website? In general, Google Analytics provides metrics about your users and their dimensions about your audience and their behaviors.

 

That’s great – how do I apply this to my business?

Google Analytics is a powerful analysis tool and the information can be a bit overwhelming. First, we must determine your business objectives. Next,  we determine how to measure the success of meeting those objectives. Objectives vary from business to business. Typically, there are types objectives.
